Our guides answer the questions we get asked most: what a battery report actually tells you, what an EV costs to run once you include the boring parts, whether you can live with one without a garage. They are written to stay true for a long time, and we update them when the facts move.
This is the other half. A blog is for the things that change faster than a guide can — a model that has suddenly become good value on the used market, a change to how a state handles registration, something we noticed inspecting twenty cars that we think you should know before you inspect one.
What we will write about
- What we are seeing in the market. We look at a lot of cars. When something shifts — a model holding its value, a run of cars turning up with the same fault — we would rather tell you than keep it as an edge.
- Specific models. What a particular car is genuinely like to own second-hand, including the parts the review at launch could not have known.
- Changes worth knowing about. Incentives, charging infrastructure, and the rules that quietly decide what an EV costs you.
What we will not do
We are paid by the seller or the finance provider when a purchase goes ahead, which is how the service stays free to you. That is a real commercial interest and it does not disappear because we are writing rather than selling.
So the rule we hold ourselves to here is the same one we use on the phone: if a car is wrong for you, we say so. A blog that only ever finds good news is an advertisement, and you can tell the difference immediately.
